The challenges of today’s legal and business environment can appear to be never ending. One such challenge is making sure your legal entities stay in compliance with every changing state and federal rules. This one-hour presentation is an overview of this modern compliance arena. The topics covered includes: Entity governance and compliance, lifecycle of the entity, and compliance reporting tasks. This hour presentation (1 CLE Credit) also takes a legal review of the challenging legal concept of “piercing the corporate veil” by way of statutory and case review as well as looking at a newer concept called “reverse corporate veil piercing”.
The presenter, Daniel W. Lias, is the Transactional Business Consultant in the Chicago office of CT covering the Midwest. He works primarily with area law firms in terms of their due diligence searches and filings. He shares market knowledge with the firms and assists in developing a strategy that meets the firm’s specific needs. He graduated from the University of South Dakota with a degree in Economics and later received his JD. He has several years of experience working with UCC related issues in both his private practice and when he was corporate counsel for an invoice factoring firm.
